Wood Veneers

Material:
Wood particle panel with real wood veneer coloured with the “immersion” process. The particular surface treatment enhances the grain of the wood and makes it perceptible to the touch. Any differences in shades are an expression of wood as a living material. They should not therefore be considered defects but a characterising quality of the product. The wooden surface is treated in such a way as to be able to reject, in moderate quantity, traces of grease and dirt. If oil, milk, wine, coffee, tea or beer spills occur, it is necessary to clean immediately.

Cleaning:
Do not use products containing acetone, alcohol, ammonia, thinners, abrasive detergents or furniture waxes to clean wooden surfaces. We recommend using only a soft cloth moistened with water, avoiding applying excessive pressure as this could risk altering the surface.Oily solutions, candles, inks, milk, yoghurt, citric acid and derivatives indelibly damage the veneer surface. Abrasions and the proximity of objects/tools at high temperatures should also be avoided.

Melamines

Material:
One of the greatest advantages deriving from the use of melamine furniture is undoubtedly the ease of cleaning. This material does not scratch or stain easily but care should in any case be taken when cleaning the furniture, using the correct method to ensure it will last as long as possible.

Cleaning:
To clean melamine furniture, use a mixture of liquid soap and warm water. Rinse with cold water and dry with a paper towel or soft cloth. If specific cleaning products are used, rinse well and always make sure that all liquid residues are completely removed to avoid the creation of smears on the surface. Stubborn grease and stains can be removed with a mixture of hot water and baking soda – work this mixture into a paste and then gently apply it to the laminate using a soft brush in a circular motion and without pressing hard. Rinse after the mark has disappeared. Do not use acid- or alkaline-based cleaning products. Do not use detergents, steel wool or detergents for dishes or similar items.

Stones

Material:
A thin sheet of real stone glued with polyester resins to a flexible acrylic fabric. Rough surface and chromatic unevenness make each door a unique and unrepeatable piece. As it is a real stone, surface irregularities are possible. They should not therefore be considered defects but a characterising quality of the product.

Cleaning:
To clean stone surfaces, products containing bleach, alcohol, ammonia or abrasive detergents must not be used. To remove traces of surface dirt, such as coffee, tea and beer, it is advisable to act immediately using a rag soaked in demineralised water. Oily solutions, candles, inks, citric acid and derivatives indelibly damage the stone surface.

Marbles

Material:
Marble is a natural product and as such has unique and unrepeatable characteristics of grain and colour. As such, no two slabs are perfectly identical. Each slab may have non-homogeneous crystallisation points, signs due to the chemical composition of the marble or small indents or abrasions that are to be considered living expressions of the original and natural material, and for this reason they cannot constitute grounds for complaint. Our marble surfaces have a fine smooth natural finish, treated with water repellent products without polyester paints. This treatment enhances the natural characteristics of the marble but makes it more vulnerable to liquids such as wine, beverages in general and oils.

Cleaning:
To clean and maintain marble it is advisable to dust the top only with a soft and dry cloth. Never use ammonia, alcohol, acid substances or abrasive detergents. Any stains from coffee, lemon, vinegar and other products containing aggressive substances must be removed immediately with warm water and neutral detergent (non-abrasive), then rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. To preserve marble surfaces it is advisable to periodically perform a treatment with typical products for cleaning and maintenance, making sure that these products are neutral and specific for the polished or smooth finish of your marble.

Ceramics

Material:
It is a thin sheet of porcelain compacted at 1200°C, resistant to organic and inorganic solvents, disinfectants and detergents. It is very easy to clean while maintaining the characteristics of the surface. It is fully compatible with food substances as it does not release elements in solution. It is a special ceramic of completely natural origin. It does not release elements into the environment and can be easily ground and entirely recycled in other production processes.

Cleaning:
The only chemical agent capable of attacking the product is hydrofluoric acid.

Ecomalta®

Material:
The Ecomalta® system by Oltremateria® consists in layering ecological, single-component mortars composed of waterborne copolymers, inert materials and natural and recycled minerals (certified). It is void of gypsum, cement and epoxy resins. Ecomalta® cladding is the result of a manual, six-step process. Handicraft expertise and manual work create a unique and unrepeatable surface. Any surface irregularities must not be considered as defects but as precious distinguishing qualities of the product.

Cleaning:
For really ECOLOGICAL cleaning, Oltremateria® suggests using hot WATER (all the better if distilled because it doesn’t contain limescale) and 20 – 30 – 40% vinegar, as the need arises. For a milder smell, we suggest you use apple vinegar. Alternatively you can use common, neutral, non-aggressive, alkaline detergents. We strongly advise against using detergents that contain solvents and concentrated acids. The surfaces must never be treated with: alcohol, acetone, solvents, ink or similar substance or products that contain them.

Metal Standard

Material:
Beautiful metallic colours which, thanks to their opacity, give rooms elegance and understated beauty. The Metallic Colours are characterised by a high opacity and are offered in many variations. The painting cycle (on MDF panels or melamine paper) combines the use of a glossy base with the two-component waterbased paint with a satin metal effect, which is then protected with a clear acrylic matt finish. The slight scratching of the surface, combined with the application of an ageing patina, creates unique and striking movements and shades. The following are the technical characteristics of the Metal line: Spray application; aesthetic effect comparable to satin metal; heat of the wood compared to steel; creation of unique effects through the following variables: colour tone of the glossy base, possible scratching and application of an ageing patina; suitable for application on three-dimensional items; excellent resistance to light; good chemical-physical resistance.

Cleaning:
Clean the surface with a clean, soft and damp cloth, sponges or chamois leather, rubbing lightly in order to avoid possible abrasions caused by dirt residues. For heavy dirt or marks, a neutral, silicone-free cleaning product can be used. To avoid streaks, it is recommended to rub the surface when it is already dry, so that no residual moisture remains. Do not use acid- or alkaline-based cleaning products. Do not use detergents, steel wool, dishwashing detergents or similar substances.

Glossy Marble Effect

Matt and glossy lacquered surfaces

Material:
A good varnish brings out the colour, lustre, textures and grains and, at the same time, emphasises the design of each product. The soft and satin refraction of light through the lacquered surface creates particularly attractive and refined effects, enhancing the finishes.

Cleaning:
It is recommended to use only a soft cloth moistened with water, avoiding applying excessive pressure as this could risk altering the surface. Other products that could alter the surface finish should be avoided, such as products containing acetone, alcohol, thinners, ammonia, abrasive detergents, oily substances, candles or furniture waxes. Abrasions and the proximity of objects/tools at high temperatures should also be avoided.

Glasses and Mirrors

Material:

Cleaning:
Clean glass with a clean, soft and damp cloth, sponges or chamois leather avoiding abrasions with dirt particles. In case of heavy dirt or marks, the glass can be cleaned more effectively with a neutral cleaning product or with a normal glass product. Do not use solvents to clean the paint on the underside of the rear lacquered glass as this could become damaged. Do not use detergents, steel wool, dishwashing detergents or similar substances.

Fabrics

Fabric upholstery:
The Presotto collection of fabrics features types with natural fibres and others with polyester fibres, creating a wide range of categories and items. The fabrics are selected by specialists based on strict specifications and rigorous testing criteria. All the types of fabric are tested directly by Presotto for their strength, wear and tear and durability, all necessary criteria to determine the longevity of our product.
Small imperfections in the fabrics (such as undertones, the formation of knots and different thicknesses) may be intrinsic features of the natural fibres used and are therefore not cause for complaint. In general for all fabric items, differences in colour tone are inevitable from one lot to the next and from samples to the goods, so they are not cause for complaint. For combinations of different fabrics, check the washing specifications and always follow the warnings for the most delicate fabric. For combinations of fabric and Leather, do not use water and dry-clean only.
For removable fabrics, we recommend following the washing and maintenance instructions shown on the technical data sheets for each fabric file. Our wool fabric cannot be washed. However, it is a good idea to take it to a specialist.
If pre-washing is required (only available for water-washable fabrics), a surcharge will be applied to be agreed with the sales office. If the combination involves fabrics that cannot be dry-cleaned with a fabric that cannot be washed in water, use the appropriate products on sale with dry active foam, trying it first on a hidden corner. Any fabrics owned by the customer sent to upholster certain models should be delivered free of charge, otherwise they will be returned to the sender. The side and direction of application must be indicated for any fabrics. If this important label is missing along with the supporting documents, the order will not be taken into consideration. For customer fabrics with a pattern repeat, please send us a photo of the fabric and tell us the exact pattern repeat as well as the direction of the decoration; in these cases, more fabric will be needed, so you will have to contact our sales office to get the exact length each time.

Cleaning:
Act as quickly as possible to remove liquids from the affected surfaces. Never use traditional detergents, solvents or other unsuitable detergents. We recommend removing stains from surfaces by consulting a dry-cleaning specialist. Clean the product at least once a year.

Leathers

Leather upholstery:
Leather is a natural product: unmistakable, special and long-lasting. Leather breathes, being able to absorb and release moisture from the body. Our soft, natural, high-quality leathers in brilliant colours are the result of our close collaboration with specialists from the best Italian tanneries. You may notice small differences in colour and shade from item to item, which is an additional sign of its natural quality. The processing by hand also enhances the exclusive, intrinsic value of each single Leather hide. Any minor defects, pinpricks or scratches must not be considered flaws, but rather are typical features of this Leather hide and prove its completely original quality. It is not real quality without defects.

For Customer leathers, the indicated use is only valid for leathers with small defects and minimum dimensions of 5.00 sqm. Customer leathers sent with more than requested will be automatically disposed of, unless the customer notifies the company at the time of order.
